One quick blog post - Dashing Dachs longies

Probably the only people who read my blog have seen this in person. ;) But just a quick post to share off Evelyn's latest woolie pants before I go knit and watch TV with my husband, who was actually home before 9pm tonight. Whoa. Miracle!

The yarn is Dashing Dachs Stallion organic merino in her Framboise colorway. The trim is Knit Picks' Wool of the Andes, which I found to be not very soft and even a tad scratchy. I sorta feel bad for Ev, since it's on the waistband, but it's not likely to irritate her. It's just not nearly as soft as the Stallion, or BFL, which her other pants are. I don't think she'll complain though. ;)

No way was she gonna take her thumb out for pictures that night!

Those came out great! I like to line my elastic waists with something really soft - alpaca works well, but I've also used angora/wool and wool/cashmere blends with great success. You need so little (maybe half an ounce) that it's a good excuse to splurge on some truly luxury yarn, and put it where it matters, even if no one is likely to see it :)

Then you are free to put just about anything on the outside of the waistband... and it won't matter much what it feels like.

One of the qualities that has made America great as a nation is the quality of persistence and resolve of its people-a wild continent was tamed, amazing technologies were discovered, vast industries were developed. The clarity scale begins with "perfect" and runs ends at "imperfect". If you see a golden-colored crown you might think that it's pure gold.
